FAQs

  • I only work with adults, ages 18+. My typical patient is someone who has experienced relational trauma. This can be a disruption in one’s most significant relationships at any point in their lifetime. Trauma may mean that a relationship ended with a lot of conflict, it could mean that a person did not receive emotional connection as a child, it could mean struggling to grieve the death of a loved one. These are major events and can cause a great deal of distress. Please reach out so I can learn more about your experience and we can talk about how therapy could help.

  • I am an out of network provider, which means I do not work directly with insurance companies. I can accept HSA as payment and I can also provide documentation that may allow you to receive reimbursement from your insurance for some portion of the cost of our visits.

I choose to work outside of the insurance system for many reasons. This choice allows our work together to remain more confidential and for me and you to collaborate about your care, rather than having insurance render an opinion on treatment duration or content. Working outside of the insurance system also allows me to better support myself and in turn show up more fully for the work that I do.

  • I am licensed in the state of Minnesota and I can work with Minnesota residents in-person or virtually.

I am also registered with PsyPact making it possible for me to virtually treat individuals located in the following states and regions:

AL, AZ, AR, CO, CT , DE, DC, FL, GA, ID, IL, IN, KS, KY, ME, MD, MI, MS, MO, MT, NE, NV, NH, NJ, NC, ND, CNMI, OH, OK, PA, RI, SC, SD, TN, TX, UT, VT VA, WA, WV, WI, WY

  • I love working with people who have been in therapy previously. If you feel that you have gained lots of insight and reflection but still feel stuck and can’t figure out why, I would love to hear from you. I can often help people take their previous insights to another layer of depth that can unlock more progress.

  • I really enjoy working with people who are new to therapy. It can be intimidating to begin this journey and I can offer gentle pacing that allows people to feel safer as we explore the healing process that is unique to each person. You can expect a lot of support and autonomy for choosing the direction of our work together as well as plenty of education about the therapy process as we go.
